Reverse Lookup zone

Do I need to setup a reverse zone in my DNS
configuration? I am uncertain whether I need to go to the
trouble of setting it up or not. I am not aware of what
might need this enabled.

Required? No
Nslookup will give you a message that it can't find the server name for the
address of the DNS server.
If you want to create a reverse zone, I prefer to set it up by name, like
192.168.x.x would be named 168.192.in-addr.arpa.
