I'm looking for some help on how to remove two DNS entries in a Microsoft
DNS reverse lookup zone.
The entires are in my 29.172.in-addr.arpa reverse lookup zone. One is in
folder 178 and the other in 217 and both point to a forward host records in
a forward zone (misc.MyCompanyName.net) that doesn't exist anymore.
I can log onto the domain controller were the reverse zone is homed with my
domain admin ID and delete the two entries using the DNS Management Console.
No warnings, no errors and everything looks good until I do a zone refresh
or a zone reload and they're back. I've tired changing the target to a zone
in my DNS that does exists and the change looks successful again until a
reload or a refresh where I end up with 2 entries pointing to the same
address. I'm stumped as to how I can get rid of them.
Any help would be appreciated.
