While logged on a local computer as Administrator, I declared all my files to
be "private", causing undesired effects. I have been unable to find a way to
reverse this action. Would appreciate any help for this problem.

Try this.

1. On the Start menu, right-click My Documents, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Sharing tab, and then click to UNSelect the Make this folder
private so that only I have access to it check box.
3. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Thanks so much for your help. I still have some undesired effects after
restoring the file attributes, but they may be unrelated. For example, I seem
to have lost a Restricted User account that existed before I made everything
private to the Administrator account. There will be a bit of work adding a
new account to the same capabilities as the inadvertantly deleted one.

DanTheMan,

They are probably mutually exclusive. I cannot see how you would lose a
Restricted User account my making folders private or not private.

The 2 problems did turn out to be mutually exclusive. The actions you
recommended did reverse the problem with the exception of a few minor
gliches. Thanks again for the help.

Keep having fun. ;-)
