I have a DDS3 tape that I marked with the date 10/14/2002. Evidently
that is when I created it.

I put it in the tape drive, but Backup refuses to see it. I looked all
over the Backup utility for a "catalog" utility or something that
would add the tape to the list of available tapes, but can't find
anything. The Help files just say "add it to the list." No help on
*HOW* to add it to the list of media available.

I tried another tape in my drawer that was not on the drop-down list
and had the same results. If I put a tape in that is already on the
list, no problem.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the tape or the drive.

What's the secret to getting it into the list of available media?

Does it show up in Removable Storage Manager, with or without running
Inventory on the library/drive?
