Reuse slides changes text to underline format

A PowerPoint 2007 file:
Any textbox that is not a standard placeholder in the incoming slide changes
to underline format. The rest of the formatting (font, color, size) holds,
but everything gets underlined.

I have checked the "keep source formatting" box before inserting, I have
copied and pasted the entire slide and also just content into a blank slide
(and also selected "keep source formatting"), but no matter what, I cannot
get the text to come in not underlined.

It is only one file that is doing this...but behaves this way no matter what
the source file for the imported slide is. I have tried to update the default
text box to be sure it is not underlined...but that seems to have no effect.

Any ideas?

I've had the same issue, but mine changed to centered italics. We've seen a
couple of reports of similar here in the newsgroups. I've no idea what the
issue is. Were your files created in PPT 2007 or an earlier version? Have
they been opened and saved on a Mac?

I believe if you copy/paste the slides instead of Reuse, then you can choose
the Paste Options button and "keep source formatting," and PPT will actually
keep the source formatting.

I'd love to see the files causing the issues so I can type up a bug report
for MS. If you want to email them, shoot 'em to echos at indy dot net along
with the body of this thread so I can remember why I asked for them!
