Returned emails claiming virus attack

I run a small company from home, which has a web site which lists support
email addresses. I have recently been receiving either mail failed
notifications or servers telling me they have intercepted an email from me
with the SCO virus. These are not generated from my main email account and I
have run Norton in safe mode with no results. Is this some one pretending to
be me (these emails are from spurious names like jake @..... etc) or do I
have to look harder for any infection.

Thanks

Hi Colin,

The virus spoofs the sending address, so it is highly likely that the
rejects are the result of this, and not of infection on your system
(provided of course that you have taken steps to ensure that you are not
infected). I have gotten some 100-150 reject notices in the past 24 hours,
as well as copies of the virus arriving supposedly coming from me. Not to
mention an additional 200+ copies of the virus from other sources.
