Mika

Hello.

Ever since I signed up with this newsgroup, I've been getting tons of (about
50 a day) returned, undeliverable email from "Network Message Storage",
"Admin", "Email System", etc. to email addresses that I didn't send mail to,
much less ever heard of.

Is this related to the newsgroup, or is somebody sending email from my
address without my knowing?

Thanks,
Mika

The new virus sends such email to addresses harvested from
newsgroups (MS news seems to be a special target). They may
say they are from MS, Security, returned mail or many other
things. They are all virus laden.

We are all getting them and deleting them as fast as we can.

Mika,
These are an attempt to plant a Worm, Bug, Virus, etc, on your computer. DO
NOT open them. Delete enmasse. I have been receiving more than 50 of these
plus many hoax Microsoft messages with worms in their attachments. For the
present at least: (A) Keep your Firewall and Anti-Virus active and updated.
(B) In Outlook Express, do this: Tools/Options/Security Tab/checkmark "Do
not allow attachments to be, etc,.
(C) If any E-mail is unfamiliar or from unknown sources or is unsolicited
by you, DO NOT open it. Delete it from both the Inbox and the Deleted
Folders. (D) BE BOTH CAREFUL AND VIGILANT.
Hang on,
Gene K

Remember what yur normally received returnes mail notifications from your
ISP look like . Anything else is bogus and, as already mentioned,
virus-laden.

MIKA, we are in the midst of another barrage of Email
from someone. I have the same problem. I have even used
MSN and OE block sender progs but they are changing
faster than can keep up with. Find another company to set
up another address with. If you have a good ISP they will
see this and start blocking.
