I wish to go back to using Windows XP Pro. I have installed the Vista RC1 on
a freshly format partition, previously owned by XP Pro, and I want to know if
I insert the Vista disk, wipe the partitions and then insert the XP Pro disk
if I can then carry on with install XP Pro?

As it stands I can not simply insert the XP Pro disk and install, because it
gives me an invalid system disk error because Vista is newer than XP.

Please help!!!

Boot from the cd. To boot from cd go into bois and then too boot section.
Not sure on how its worded in your bios. But in mine i set first boot to
cdrom. Then another section on which cdrom i want to use to boot from and
then put in the xp cd in it and restart
