Hi Lenny,
It sounds like your flash card may have had it's file structure corrupted.
Let's try to get working for you. Here's how:
Plug your flash card reader into your computer, but cancel out of the
wizard.
Open My Computer (Either double-click on My Computer on your desktop, or
Start | My Computer).
You will see your flash card reader listed as a Device with Removeable
Storage.
Right click on the flash card reader, adn select Properties.
Click on the Tools tab.
You will see a section called "Error-checking" Click the "Check Now"
button.
Check "Automatically fix file system errors" and click Start.
Checkdisk will examine the file and automatically fix any file system errors
it finds. You might be asked to reboot. Do so, but make sure you leave the
flash card reader plugged in when you do.
If this does not work, you can try a command line to do the same thing:
In My Computer, you will notice that your flash card reader has been
assigned a drive letter. For this example, I am going to call it "x:", but
you will need to replace that with the actual drive letter assigned in My
Computer.
Click Start | type "cmd" and press <ENTER>.
In the command prompt, type "chkdsk x: /f" (without the quotes).
There is a chance that you will be asked if you want to check this volume
the next time you start your computer. Say Yes, and restart your computer,
make sure you do not unplug your flash card reader.
Chkdsk will then run on the flash card reader and fix any errors it can when
you reboot.
After that, you should be able to access any pictures that have not been
corrupted. Make sure to format your flash card in the digital camera the
next time you use it to get rid of any bad sectors that were recovered with
ChkDsk.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if that works for you and if there is
anything else I can do to assist you!
