Retrieving old emails from server

My old computer HD went terminal, and since it was an old machine I decided
to buy a whole new PC. It is set up and working well - but I have one problem
- Though I backed up about 4 days before the crash - I had received some very
important emails after the backup which are now irretrievable from my old
machine. Is it possible to have old emails redelivered from my ISP?
 
If the messages were removed from the server when you downloaded them, then
they are gone. You might ask the senders to resend them.

Ask your ISP. Policies vary as to whether they can restore downloaded
messages. Did you look in webmail?
