I am trying to retrieve .dbx files that I saved to CD
when my hard drive died. The files are dowmloaded on new
drive in the Outlook Express folder, but I cannot get
them into the sode bar when I open Outlook Express. I
have created the same named Local Folder names, tried to
drag and drop,, that does not work, I tried to import,
that does not work because I cannot find a program
association to open the .dbx files. Anyone out there know
how?

Thank you, DickJ65

How to restore a dbx file.

* Create a folder in Outlook Express called Restore
* Switch off Restore and go back to it
* Right click on folder name and select properties
* The general tab should show drive/path/filename information (note
filename)
* Exit Outlook Express

* Replace the file noted above with one of the *.dbx files you want to
restore. (e.g. if the filenames was noted as restore.dbx and you want to
bring back a file named My Stuff.dbx from cd. Copy My Stuff.dbx to the
location noted and name it restore.dbx. don't forget to remove the read
only attribute.)

* Start Outlook Express
* Move stuff from Restore folder to where you want it
* Exit Outlook Express and repeat for next dbx file

The file that I copied to CD will not allow me to remove
the read only attribute!! Grrrrrr!!! Is there another way
around this problem to remove the read only checked box?

Thank you,
