Retrieving data from VMS into an MS Application?

Hi,

I am in the process of developing an ASP.Net app.

Part of this app needs to retieve data from a VMS System.

Does anyone have any articles on this or know of any good
sites detailing this?

From where on a VMS system? What version? What software is it running
(PathWorks? TCP/IP Services)?
