Hi, i want to use the audio that i find youtube (for ex)for my WMM project.
I dont need the video portion-just the sound (like songs/music). I am
familiar with 'youtube graber" that grabs the entire video so that I can
play it offline on my pc. But how can I convert the file to plain audio so
that I can import the audio part into the project & add my own pictures to
the music i chose. thanks in advance

Have a look at the following article, it explains a way
that you can record (copy) the audio into Movie Maker:

Movie Maker 2 - Importing Audio

(look at the right column under PapaJohn Comments)

A couple more thoughts......

Here's a site that allows you to convert a
YouTube clip into a different format and
then download it to your computer:

vixy.net
http://vixy.net/

There is an Audio only option in the drop
down list. It's MP3 though and Movie Maker
has issues with that format sometimes.

===

If the video clip is in a format that you
can import into Movie Maker...'avi' for
example...try the following steps:

In Windows Movie Maker 2.1....
To save only the audio track of a video clip...
drag the video to the "Audio/Music" track.
Then go to...File / Save Movie File / ect...ect......

This will result in a .wma audio file. Be sure
to drag the clip all the way to the left on the
timeline or you will have dead air at the
beginning.
