I am using Vista. When I try to adjust the size of a rectangle by selecting
the either an edge or a corner it reverts to a narrow horizontal bar. How do
I over ride this to make the size box I want without typing in specific
values?

Jean-Pierre,

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately that did not help. It seems to
be some setting that is locked. This just started this morning.

Have you tried to modify your rectangle with ALT key pressed?

Right-click the object, choose Format Object (or Format Shape). In the
Textbox tab, do you have "resize autoshape to fit text" selected?

If so, uncheck it and try again.
