I am trying retain the time format from an excel file. The field retains
hours, minutes, seconds... example... 2:43:46, 147:05:29, etc..

Some of the formats are retained when importing to Access but others do not.
In excel one of the times are 150:27:50 but when imported it is 1/6/1900
6:27:50 AM. The excel field is set with the format of Custom - [h]:mm:ss.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the data to remain as I see it in
Excel? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Access can't handle more than 24 hours in a Date/Time field without
converting it to days. The strange date that you are getting is about 150
hours form Saturday, December 30, 1899 12:00:00 AM which is Hour 0 in Access.

If you need to track and do math on Hours, Minutes, and Seconds (as opposed
to dates and times), you probably need to create seperate fields for each
then do the 24 hour/60 minute/60 second math thing as needed.

If you never have to do the math, you could just import it into a text field.
