I might be going to Houston TX shortly and may take the opportunity to buy a
handheld GPS and some PC memory (Cheaper than UK). Can anyone recommend
some stores in that area (chain store or local) that sell at low prices

Thanks

Memory prices are very elastic, so it doesn't really matter where you buy
it.

There may be a Fry's Electronics there. You can get an idea of their
prices by checking their ads in the Orange County Register,
www.myoc.com, or the San Jose Mercury, www.sjmercury.com, and plug in
the SKU numbers into www.outpost.com (Fry's Internet business, prices
not always the same). Their largest ad is published every Friday and
runs through Tues., but they also run ads Sat.-Mon. and a different one
for Wed.-Thurs. They can be especially cheap for motherboard-CPU
combinations, but their memory deals usually aren't very good, except
with rebate. www.salescircular.com also lists local store prices but
often misses Fry's.

I've just bought crucial ballistix 1gb kit in uk, from a 'proper' supplier,
it was cheaper than US advertised prices, and no it wasnt a special deal
