I'm running Windows XP Pro with 5 user accounts.

Is it possible to prevent certain accounts from logging on after a certain
time, e.g. 9pm so that I keep my kids off the PC?

Or, you can mostly do it for free using the built in
command: net user user_name /time:login_times
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_restrict_users.htm
is one example.

NOTE: this does prevent them from logging on after the
specified time, but it does NOT force them off from a
workgroup machine when the time expires. It does
answer the first part of your question though about keeping
them from logging in.
