Hi All,

Is there a way you can restrict the amount of space that is allocated to a
certain folder within Windows Server 2000 / 2003. I know you can do it to a
whole disk by using disk quota management, but it would be useful if we
could do it to certain areas. If Windows can't do this, is there a certain
utility or addin I could use?

Thanks All
Andy

No, Quotas are on a "per volume basis". Not based on either shares or
directories,
or even "drives" (i.e., spindles.)

You might look into 3rd party "Quota Managers" (there is one under that name
I
believe) but expect to PAY for these.

Usually a lot of money, unfortunately. What I opted to do for my
internal systems was use a program called FolderSizes
(www.foldersizes.com). This thing is very slick - it can report
detailed drive/folder space utilization of locate drives, plus any
remotely accessible drive or folder.

Highly recommended, and very cheap.
