How can I easily stop floppy drive access on a Windows XP
Pro machine, without disconnecting the floppy. These
machines are at a remote site so I need to implement this
through remote desktop controls.

Thanks.

Ray.

You can restrict access to the floppy and CD-ROM drives in
Windows XP Professional via the Local Computer Policy in
the MMC (Click Start > Run > type: GPEDIT.MSC , and hit enter.
Go to: Computer Configuration > Windows Settings >
Security Settings > Local Policy > Security Options )

Is there anyway to implement it through the registry. so
I can make a reg file and upload it to our stores and
just run it.

or will I have to do it this way?

Also I looked in there and the only option I can find
is....

"Devices:Restrice floppy access to locally logged-on user
only"

Which isnt what I want, I want to disable access to
everyone, including the local users.

Hi

To block specified drive letters:

Prevent Access to the Contents of Selected Drives
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1157/

You should combine it with this one if you want to hide the
drive(s) as well:

Hide Drives in My Computer
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/148/

Hi

Post an e-mail address & I'll send a copy of a freeware utility called
1st security center. With this you can configure account access to
virtually everything using tick boxes. Set up a hotmail address for
this or you'll be spammed!

Can you just disable the floppy from the BIOS?
