what is the most efficient way to restrict the user from
only being able to use the switchboard and not have the
ability to double click any of the objects??

i would think this is a pretty basic functionality and
should not involve any VBasic programming.

so far, i've setup accounts, modified permissions, and
ran the user level security wizard

It's part of "finishing" a "developed application". You hide the database
window, set Allow Bypass Key to False, etc.. It's a bit long to explain in a
newsgroup reply. A good Intermediate to Advanced Access book should include
a chapter on the final steps in developing an application.

You may want to apply Access' security, as well, but that is "not for the
faint of heart".

If you allow the users access to the Database window, there is no way to
stop them double-clicking the objects.
