Tools > Customize. While the Customize dialog box is open, click File,
then click Send To. Drag the elements that you don't want away from the
menu. Then click Close on the Customize dialog box. By default, this
change will be made in normal.dot, so when you exit Word, if you're
asked whether you want to save normal.dot, say yes.
However, since what you're doing is likely to be done in a corporate
environment, I would caution you against changing individuals'
normal.dot. A better solution would be to create a new template. Make
your change in that template. That is, follow the steps above, but at
the bottom of the Customize dialog, make sure the "Save In" setting
refers to your new template.
Put your template into the location shown at Tools > Options > File
Locations > Start Up.
The template will then load automatically when Word starts. And the
changes you made to the File menu will be apparent when users are
working on any document.
