We are a public library, using XP on our Public computers in a Windows 2003
server environment. Is there a way that I can give the public access to
Windows Explorer, but not give them access to certain drive(s), i.e. C drive,
D drive, E drive or just hide a drive letter from showing up in Windows
Explorer?
Scenario: Public user logs in and opens Windows Explorer. Have C drive
hidden (not even show up). Show the CD (d drive) and show another partition
(T drive). And when they plug in a UBS jump drive, it would appear in
Explorer that they would have access to.
We are using Windows Steady State to "Freeze" the computer. I'd like to be
able to give the public access to some drives but restrict access to certain
drives and not give them ANY access to networked drives. Let me know the
easiest way to do this.
Thanks,
Jim
