Restoring win98 backup file

The hard disc on my old win98 machine has finally died. I
have a ".qic" backup file I would like to restore. Trouble
is that I only have access to win2000 (and soon XP)
machines.

The win2000 backup utility does not appear to support
restore from .qic file format and the rather unhelpful MS
resolution is to "restore from a win98 machine".

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a utility taht
runs on win2000 to restore .qic backup files ? Thanks !

Yes, the official answer is ".qic files cannot be restored using ntbackup."

Having said that, I believe that BackUp MyPC will do this.

Now I have found the newsgroup search function, it looks like this is a fairly common problem for people who have win95/98 machines that are coming to the end of their working lives...
