Restoring W2K DC

HI,
How do you restore a W2k DC( 2nd DC in the domain) on a
different hardware and without the 1st DC of the domain.

What I did.
1. backup sys state of 2nd DC
2. Install w2k on new hardware
3. restore sys state using W2k backup
4. seize fsmo operations

When I did this, i got thousands of error msg in Event
viewer. So I reinstall, DCPROMO and ADD THE USERS MANUALLY!

restore your AD to dissimilar hardware.
Can you post the errors you were having ? Did you setup DNS server ?
