Restoring To Different Server hardware

Greetings,

I need to restore a Windows 2000 server that's running
Exchange 5.5 to a totally different server hardware
platform. This Windows 2000 server is a Domain Controller
as well.

What are the ramifications of the hardware platform being
different and What is the best way to accomplish this
task?

Any help will be appreciated !!
