i have quarantined files using the microsoft antispyware.
whem i choose "manage spyware quarantine" from Tools -->
spyware scan , the program doesn't respond.
i've also tried to restore my windows xp to previous day
(before the antispyware quarantined the files) in vain.
how can i restore the files?
your prompt help please.

System restore does not back up user data.

Have you given it a good long time? Others have reported some lengthy
delays for some operations, but I don't know what to expect for this one.

Another thought is to try the operation in safe mode--I've no particular
reason to think that might work better, but there will be less running on
the machine, so if there's some conflict it could work better.

I take it you've tried the obvious:
Tools, spyware scan, manage spyware quarantine. You should
be able to check and remove from quarantine, which
restores the files or registry entries that were
quarantined.

I am having the same problem. I restored the files from
the quarantine and told it to ignore them in the future.
I checked my folder and the files were back. I restarted
the computer and the files were gone again. I went back
into the quarantine and it is empty. I know the data is
still because my harddrive space did not go down. So any
ideas on how to get the files to show again?

10-x alot
i had to wait 6 hours (in safe mode) and then i got the
"manage spyware quarantine" page.

And did it then work? If so, I would definitely STRONGLY recommend moving
what you want to keep to a different location, outside of \program
files--perhaps "My Music" for example.

I've seen some reports of folks getting stuff back from Quarantine and then
losing it on the next boot, so I would be VERY cautious.

Congratulations--I don't know if I could have been so patient--I suspect
not.

Word. The program quarantined my Kazaa and Morpheus
folders (lots of music!), and after I told it to ignore
them, they disappeared. I didn't even have the P2P
programs installed! It just quarantined the folders
because of the name! Jesus, somebody help! Is there any
way to get this stuff back?

Not unless you are running an undelete monitoring tool or you have an
offline backup. Offline backups are very important - burn you files to
another hard disk, cd, or dvd - at least twice.

If the files are in quarantine, you should be able to get them back via
Tools, Spyware Scan, Manage Spyware Quarantine. For some users, there is
apparently a substantial delay for the UI for this page to become "live."
One poster here cited 6 hours! (He also had Kazaa files in quarantine.)

how did u fix the problem i have the same one (pls give specifics - am a
novice computer user).
thnx

Well, that's good news at least in that instance. Good suggestion about
moving those files to a new location rather than default too.
