Using Outlook 2002. How do I restore old pst files? I have backups for my
mailbox.pst folder from a former computer (and Outlook 97) and would like to
access some of the subfolders and messages.

Thanks,

Rachel

You can open the PST files (file | open....) and drag/copy/read/whatever you
like if you don't want to import everything.

Or you can use file / import/export to import everything. Or specify that
PST file as your default and just use it. Depends what you need....

You should define more clearly what you want to do. If you want to use all
of the information in the old PST but not the new, just configure Outlook to
use your old PST. If you only want portions of it, just open it in Outlook
and drag and drop the information you want from the old into the new.

I opened up the old mailbox.pst -- and suddenly got everything added to my
current Outlook folders -- and I can read them as long as I have the ZIP
cartridge with the backup in the ZIP drive. I'll learn more about importing
what I want. Thanks for setting me on the right path.

Thank you! I'm on my way to accessing the old files.
