Restoring OE 6.0 as my default e-mail

I am using Windows XP Professional, with IE 6.0 and OE 6.0 as my e-mail
service. Recently, my default e-mail service was somehow changed to Micosoft
Outlook (MO). Every time I launch e-mail from IE, it attempts to connect
toM. Does anyone know how I can change my default e-mail service back to
Outlook Express 6.0?

Thanks for your help.

Go to START - ALL PROGRAMS. At the top of the list should be "Set Program Defaults" There you can
choose to have OE instead of Outlook as your default mail program.

1. http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx; then...

2a. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx

2b. (WinXP) [Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and
Defaults > Email > ...

If still no joy, see:

Every time Office installs an update to Outlook it will reset Outlook as the
default mail program and you will have to set the default back to Outlook
Express.

Isn't life wonderful?

Thanks - that's what I found out (the hard way), but I was able to restore OE
as my default e-mail service, and not thanks to Mocrosoft, of course, who
wanted to charge me $59 to resolve it!
