Read the User's Guide that came with your PC or visit the
support web site of your PC manufacturer to learn how to
restore Windows XP using the PC manufacturer's restore method.

Hi,

Check your owners manual, most provide for some means of wiping the system
out and restarting from scratch (in fact they are required to provide some
means of recovery from disaster, usually this is a hidden reinstall
partition). System Restore only restores a system state, not a factory
state.

Most major vendors place a 'restore partition' on the hard drive if they do
not supply an actual restore cd. The steps to access the 'restore partition'
and how to restore your pc to factory specs should be in your system manual.
If not, give your pc maker a call or visit their website for instructions.
What brand of pc do you have? Best of luck!!!
