Restoring my internet connections

Hi,
I was a happy Windows 2000 user but I was persuaded to upgrade to XP Pro.
My computer shared a network connection with my older computer which runs
windows 95 which we still use for basic functions like word processing. My
computer connected to the internet via an external modem.

In the up grade my dial-up connections disappeared. When I try to create a
new connection that option is greyed out. I have worked through all of the
trouble shooters with no joy.

I get a 711 error but when I search for this under help & support it tells
me to read the event log - I found the event log (I think) but it makes no
sense. I suspect that the problem has something to do with the Remote Access
Service Manager and when I try to start that I get "error 5 access denied".

Also I have lost my network connection to my older computer. I was hoping
to connect to the internet through the built in modem in my older computer
but the network problem prevents this.

So I am connecting to the internet on my slow modem on my old computer and
my preferred mail program is on my new computer which is all a bit of a pain.

Any help with either problem would be appreciated but mostly I want to be
able to make a dial up connection to the internet on my new, fast computer.
