Restoring History Data?

Hello,

On occasion, when my machine shuts down abnormally, such as just a
couple of hours ago, when the power went out due to a lighting strike,
certain history data is lost.

Namely, the "last visited" time, and the "times visited" to a website,
which read "none" and "0" respectively for each entry.
This is what you find when you right click on a url, and select
properties from the context menu.

I wonder if there is a way to restore this data?

I did find that in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local
Settings\History" the last visited time is there for each url, but
somehow that's not being loaded into the browser.

I'm using IE6 on WinXP.

Thanks for any help,
....John

You could try Ctrl+F5 to do a full refresh of IE. Also navigating to the url
(click on the URL in the history list) will increment the visits count and
update the last visit date.

This problem? is a bit hard to test without unplugging our own PCs, so I
would not expect that you will receive a detailed response.

Thanks for the feedback, Rob.

I thought there might be some file I could readily get to for the
info, and perhaps effect a repair.
