Restoring Hidden folders

I need help! I recently downloaded a trial speed startup program and tried it
out, but deleted it as I decided not to keep it. Now all of my less
frequently used files from My Documents and Favorites have disappeared. I've
looked for them using the Search program in the Start function and found them
all still where they should be, i.e. My Docs and Favorites. I can access them
through Search, but they still do not appear when I open My Docs and
Favorites, so they are obviously hidden. Any ideas as to how to make them
reappear? I'll be grateful for any suggestions.

Locate Geejays Documents in Windows Explorer. Right click on the folder,
select Properties and the General tab. Has the folder hidden attribute
been checked?

Did you delete or uninstall ?
 
Hi Gerry,

That didn't fix it - but thanks for the suggestion. I've also noticed that
several of my desktop icons have gone!
