Restoring Explorer Windows

Sorry if this sounds a trivial question, but I just can't find the answer.

I have 3 computers (2 W2K Professional, and 1 W2K Server), all of the same
O/S revision, but one behaves differently on startup. One Professional and
the Server box both restore the Windows Explorer windows that were active
when the systems were shut down -- which is very convenient for my purposes.
The other Professional box, however, has never restored its Explorer
windows. I cannot find any option or registry setting related to this
feature though.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello Tony,

Try this:

Add a DWORD value named PersistBrowsers under the following registry
sub-tree:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advance
d
Then set the value to 1

Thanks for that. It worked a treat. However, my other machines (the ones
that already restore the Explorer windows) don't seem to have this key set.
Is that expected?
