Restoring E-Mails

I

Issa

When I set up my work e-mail to my windows live, it removed all the e-mails
from the on-line account and transfered it to Windows Mail. Now I can't view
my e-mails from anywhere else by going on-line other than on my computer.

How can I set this up that my e-mails do not get removed from my on-line
account and I can transfer back all my e-mails?

Please, I really need help with this, I haven't been able to figure it out.

It isn't clear what you mean by "windows live" since that is the group name
for a whole suite of different programs: http://get.live.com

POP email clients like Windows Mail will (by default) remove messages
from the server after downloading them. You can change that default:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Advanced,
enable "Leave a copy of messages on server."
But that will not return messages already downloaded. You can forward
those emails back to the server account, but it is very tedious to do so
one at a time. There is no other workaround unless your provider offers
the IMAP protocol in addition to POP.
