We accidentally deleted a user account through the Control Panel. The only
file we would like to restore is the IE Explorer's Favorites list. This is a
list of laboriously compiled links that we really want to get back. No other
files are relevant.

Please help!

hi,
you can try a system restore if you have a recent restoration point, or you
can copy from c:\documents and settings\username\favorites but you will not
have the passwords saved for that links if there was, you will have to enter
again.

Dragos,

Thanks for your reply. I tried that, but unfortunately, the username does
not exist under Documents and Settings. I thought by deleting the user
account, the username folder may have been deleted too. We did click "Save
files" option while deleting user account. But we can't seem to find them.
Again, we only need the Favorites file.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi ! There is a way but only for Windows XP Professional . Under Pro ,
Control Panel->Administrative options->Computer Management

but , I'm afraid , there is no such option in XP Home ed.At least I don't
know of such.
