I am using Windows XP. My logon got deleted, but the files were saved. Now
that I am adding my user account back on to the computer, how do I retrieve
my old files. I found my Excel and Word files, but all my Outlook folders,
contacts, old e-mails are missing. How can I restore these??

I expect they are gone. Here is a note I have about copying over user
profiles:

Note: You must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user
profile before you delete the old profile. For additional information
see 313055 OLEXP: Mail Folders, Address Book, and E-mail Messages Are
Missing After You Upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP

So you'll need to restore them from backups.

First make sure that you have your file preferences set to view hidden files.

From within outlook Choose Open outlook data file.

Then navigate to the Documents and Settings folder on the drive holding your
files. There should be a folder for your login name: choose Application Data
then the hidden Outlook folderg. For example:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Outlook

Outlook files are of the type *.pst The default is outlook.pst

Hope that helps

Hello,

EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore deleted, lost file and unformat drive,
so I think you will also find it quite useful. Really recommended
tool, give it a try.
