I recently upgraded my office suite and my wife had a large amount of task
and activities set up in Outlook 2000 which do not seem to be in 2003. How
can I restore those activities without her having to redo everything she did?

When you install Outlook 2003, the installation process creates a new mail
profile and, possibly, a new PST (Personal Folders file). The old PST is
still on your hard drive. The old mail profile may very well still be in
the registry. With Outlook closed, click Start>Control Panel>User
Accounts>Mail (if using the Catgeory view of Control Panel, or just run the
Mail applet if using the Classic view). Click Show Profiles. See if there
is more than one and, if so, click Aslways use this profile and, in the
drop-down, choose the one not selected. Click OK and start Outlook.

If there is only one mail profile, click the Data Files button. Note the
path to the PST that is displayed there, click Add, then OK. You should see
two PST files in the browse window that appears. Select the one that was
NOT listed in the path you noted (it should be the old PST), and click OK,
then Close. You should be back at the "Mail Setup" dialogue. Click E-mail
Accounts, then Next. At the lower left, change the drop-down to select the
other PST that will appear in it. Click Finish, then Close. Start Outlook.
You should be back to normal with the possible exception of having two
folder sets, one of which will have the "Outlook Today" icon on its root.
Right-click the other and choose Close.
