Hi Folks,

I could do with some help in restoring a win2k registry key.

The missing key is CryptSvc, it has disapeared from my registry.

This of course causes some download problems from microsoft.

I have installed a system state backup into another directory and now require to get the missing key from the system file. I believe that is correct.

So how do I get that key and insert it back into the current registry?

Any help would be most appreciated.

I only use XP so cant really help

Although XP uses a Cryptsvc entry in Reg dont know if its the same one

And there is several of each

Cryptsvc

Legacy_Cryptsvc

Is it possible to do an over install to replace the previous entry?

Cryptographic services.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure if the xp entry is the same, there doesn't seem to be much info about as to the win2k entry.

As far as I can determine, yes you can install just one key or replace an existing one with another entry.

I've just got to work out how to do it.
