Restored but Lost My Files

According to the RESTORE info, Windows XP retains files and only restores
the system settings to an earlier time BUT when I did, all my Corel and
Adobe files disappeared. I guess they were in there SOMEWHERE because when
reversed the Restore, there they were back again. Where did they go? WHY did
they disappear and how can I KEEP them and yet Restore?

Can you burn them to a CD or copy them to another drive?

Put them within a zip file and they should be all right.
System Restore does not touch zip files.
