days left on warranty.I have taken it down to the repair store
where i purchased it and they want me to restore the unit with a
new cd back up all the files and things is this common for less
than a tear old unit, Thankyou for your help

Debbie;
There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
Otherwise:

These types of things do happen, on newer and older computers as
yours.
At this point, you really have two options:
1. Do as they suggest, back-up important data and restore computer to
as new condition.
2. Post back with actual problem (assuming System Restore is not
actual issue), perhaps someone here can help.

Your best option may be the first option...Restore the computer using
the CD.
The warranty is almost up and the time to troubleshoot and determine
actual issue may outlast the warranty.
If it turns out to be a hardware issue, you have just lost on the
warranty side.
