restore win 98 files to win xp

we have backed up "my docs" using windows 98 "backup". It
rwquired 11 disks.
Can we restore unto a Wn XP home PC??? and how ?

This must be one of the biggest "own goals" of MS! While trying to push all
users into the one OS, they did NOT make NTBackup able to read any other
Windows backup files! Unfortunately, you will have to search for a
third-party application that will read those W98 files, unless you still
have the W98 machine, in which case the easiest answer is to install the old
HDD as a slave and get at the data that way.
 
This version of BackUp MyPC should do it for you as it will open .QIC files
http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/0,39025604,39058072s,00.htm I've tested it and
it restored .QIC files created on both Windows 98 and Windows Me systems.
Download and install on your XP system then use it to restore the .QIC
backup from your floppies. 11 floppies....ouch .....hopefully you don't have
a corrupt floppy in the set <g>
