Is Restore or GoBack the better choice for computer protection? Can you use
both at same time?

Thanks

Restore is a free program that comes with XP (and maybe ME). It only
restores key system files, and then not in all cases. I would not count on
it for much, although I suppose that it is better than nothing.

GoBack is a third-party program, formerly Roxio(?), now Symantec (the Norton
Utilities folks). It can send your PC back in time, undoing a bad
installation for example. It handles much more than just system files, but
it does NOT backup user files, like DOC, XLS, etc. It works well, but can
conflict with the concept of a full partition backup, such as GHOST,
DriveImage, TrueImage. Still, if you read the manual carefully, even that
does not have to be a major issue. (For example, Symantec will tell you how
to use both their GHOST and their Goback on the same computer.) GoBack is
limited primarily by how much disk space you are willin to dedicate to a
backup files.
