My eMachine is 1-1/2 years old & I think it came with XP.
(I keep my software well organized but can't find a CD.)
I have had no trouble until recently it got really slow.
Among other things Disk Cleanup quit working and would
just freeze. Among other things, I looked at System
Restore for the first time. I had thought that it
periodically set points. But it looks like it doesn't and
I have never set one.

It is too screwed up to set one now. When I took it into
the seller, they ran some things & decided it is probably
some recently installed software not workng well together
(Illustrator, Quick Books, Acrobat, latest Messenger, at
least).

They told me to restore it to factory settings by
pressing F10 repeatedly. That doesn'e have any effect. I
would be delighted to restore to factory settings if I
knew how to do it.

Please help. Thank you.

Hi,

Ask your System Manufacturer for System Recovery CDs. By
using those CDs, Perform FullRestore in your computer.

This should restore the computer to its factory installed
condition.

Thanks,
