My front access memory stick reader used to launch a wizard to copy my digital photos to My Pictures. It was working on 3/28/2004. Yesterday it stopped working. I can locate the photos using My Computer, but I prefer using the wizard. How do I get it working again. I recently upgraded Realplayer. Is it possible that something in Realplayer is overriding the XP photo management.

Try running this from Start | Run | Type > regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Control the things you can and Don't Worry about the things you can't
control.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I tried running this (although I didn't reboot) and nothing happened. My card is a 266Meg Scandisk Compact Flash inserted in a PMCIA slot on a Toshiba Laprtop - an IDE ATAPI controller, apparently recognized and working properly according to the blurb in the various dialog boxes.

Richard,
Did it tell you that the dll had been sucessfully registered. If not try
running the command again.

Also you can try this command to register the .dll

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll

Hi

Yes, it told me it had registered, and no - it has made no difference, and the wizard still hasn't appeared.
