Restore problems with a difference

My system restores quite well, EXCEPT that every time I either restore or undo restore I lose approx 200 Megabytes of disk space
This space cannot be found in any files or folders, even when displaying with "system files and hidden files" showing
I now have no HDD space left and may have ti face the ultimate nightmare, the total re install!!!
Does anyone know how to recover this space, regardless of whether it destroys my current restore point or not???????
 
Turn restore off. Reboot. Turn restore back on.
