After my daughter (in the mistaken belief that it would
be harmless) downloaded the spyware ridden Kazaa onto my
machine I discovered that all the restore points had
vanished. I removed as much of the Kazaa rubbish as
possible, along with any clearly obvious references in
the registry but am now completely unable to access the
restore system, attempts to do so result in the error
message "The procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll"
I've searched for the DLL and appears 3 times in the
Windows/system32 folder (modified 23-8-2001), the
recovery/windows/system32 folder (modified 23-8-2001),
and the Windows/system32/dllcache folder (modified 23-8-
2001). All the files have the same version number.
Any ideas?
TIA
