Restore old XP to New XP System

Can someone tell me if I can restore a Drive Image copy of an old P3 System,
with XP Home, to a new XP Home P4 System?

Can it be done? Will I run into problems?

No. You will run into problems. The motherboard hardware is radically different, and its doubtful that the installation will even boot. More likely it will crash with a blue screen error, because of the changed hard drive controller.

Hate to disagree with the experts......... but yes it can be done.
Restore the image. Upon initial reboot, pop in the WinXP CD and boot
off it. From there do a repair install.

Have done it myself................everything turned out groovy.

Now that sounds promising. This will save me hours of reloading programs.
