I made a serious mistake, I believed the restore feature could restore
me to a previous configuration -- obviously not.
What good is this feature?
Over the last 3 days I've been rolling over to/setting up a new
system. At key steps along the way I created restore points, so if
something went wrong I could revert to a working configuration.
Something did go wrong . . . BUT, when I tried to restore, Mr.
Gates said:
Your Computer Cannot Be Restored To:
[whatever point you're trying to restore to]
I have now tried all 7 of the restore points I created. It always
repeats, "Your Computer Cannot Be Restored To . . ."
This is a evil, treacherous feature. It leads you into depending on
it and then, when you need it --- April Fool, Fool, Fool, Fool . . .
Bill gotcha.
Anybody know how to recover a bollixed registry from one of these
restore *NOT* points?
