I am practicing disaster recovery of my AD Domain Controllers. Using
NTBackup, I backup the system state only on my windows 2000 std. SP4 (plus
some critical updates) ADC which is running DHCP, DNS and Wins. On my stand
alone test server, I installed w2k server std and sp4 (no critical updates),
DHCP, DNS, Wins and the AdminPak. Rebooted into DS safe mode. Started the
restore but NT Backup won’t finish. It gets right down to the end and quits.
The server won’t rebooted after that. I followed the instructions in
Windows 2000 Server Disaster Recovery Guidelines White Paper.
The two servers are different but they are both RAID 5.
Anybody got any ideas?
