restor point

there is no difference bewtween a manual and automatic
restore point but if you goto "start" open accessories and
select system there you can access the system restore
click on it and follow the instructions

I have tried .tried and tried again ALL of the Restore
point date allowable .Received Reply " cannot restore
this computer "or words to that effect.It was suggested I
should DELETE all the Dates (purge) and let the System
configure itself ............any comment please or advice

Correct. You need to turn System Restore off, reboot and turn it back on
again. This will reset it and it should work as normal. This is, TTBOMK, the
only way to recover from a corrupted SR.
